These Migraines still keep coming...

Hi Readers,

My new cycle began on Friday, this is how the pattern went:

Friday (Day 1): Bad headache which turned into a migraine.
Saturday (Day 2): Headache in the afternoon, mega uterine cramps (felt like contractions) in the evening.
Sunday (Day 3): Felt extremely tired and had a real lack of concentration.
Monday (Day 4): Still very tired, (mild headache lurking in the background) concentration still difficult.

So, it's hard to say whether any of the stuff I am doing is helping or not, however, I managed to get through it all with only two doses of painkillers, which is pretty good.
For the rest of this cycle, I will continue with the:
  • Oil Pulling (with Organic Virgin Coconut Oil)
  • Butterbur Capsules (75mg twice per day)
  • Yoga
  • Pranayama Alternate Nostril Breathing & Brahmari (Humming Bee Breath)
  • (and anything else that may crop up!) and keep you all posted on the progress of these.

The Butterbur capsules take a while to work apparently, so it may be a few months before I get any benefit from those - here's hoping!

Hope you are all having a good day!

Lou :)

  1. Hello- Just stumbled upon this blog- thank you for blogging your experience.

I am in the same boat. Trying anything to stop them.
I am now in month one of a supplement called Migravent. It is a combo of Butterbur, Magnesium, B6, and CoEmzyme 10. And using the progesterone cream.
My migraines start the day before my cycle and last until I ovulate.

LOVE hearing what others are doing, and how things work out.!

    1. Hello, thanks for your comment, how's the Migravent going?

I am personally taking Vitamin D supplements, as I have just discovered that my levels are low, and this is a possible cause.

Hope you get to the root cause of yours soon

      Lou.

  3. I have been a long sufferer too with my cycle. Mine are triggered by yogurt, almonds, nuts, chocolate and banana's especially. Some months I have been good at not getting them but suddenly something else triggers them such as some kind of perfume I think. I have tried almost everything in the book but now I'm going to try 5-htp and see if that works. I will let you know if it works for me. My migraines are severe and always lasts 3 days every month.

Have you had your vitamin D levels checked?
