Day 23 of cycle (July - August 09) Using Magnesium Citrate while avoiding certain foods

Hi readers,

It's day 23 of my cycle, and oddly enough, I had a migraine last night, which on reflection, I think may have been triggered by the peanut butter which I had at lunchtime. I wouldn't usually have a migraine at this point in my cycle.

I'm going to avoid peanut butter for a while and see how that goes.

(Having googled 'peanut butter migraine' it does appear that it's a common trigger)

I'm still using the Magnesium Citrate & avoiding red meat this month as per my previous post (below)

Lou.

  1. I had to come to the realization that peanut butter was a trigger for me as well. Since chocolate is also a trigger, I justified eating PB as a way to curb my sweet tooth, but it was doing more harm than good.

  2. Hi,
Have you been to The City of London Migraine Clinic. They have the leading expert in Menstrual Migraine. Here is a link to a video about menstrual migraine the Clinic have done: http://www.youtube.com/user/MigraineClinic

I thought it might help you and would be of interest to your followers to hear your experience and see how it helps you.

Their website is www.migraineclinic.org.uk and they have a twitter, facebook, youtube and wikipedia page.

A blogger from The Independent has just written about the Clinic if you want to have a look: http://erinnorman.livejournal.com/9595.html

I hope this is some help to and any suffers that follow your blog. I look forward to hearing what you think.

    Simon

  3. I found that any legume could trigger migraines... maybe due to the natural phytoestrogenic activity? peanuts are a legume - not a nut (silly misleading name!)
they are also very high in mold which can be a trigger for some.
